Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Mendon Republican Committee (MRC). Our goal is to elect Republicans to govern the Town of Mendon, Monroe County, New York State, and our national government, since we strongly believe that the principles of Republicanism best serve the interests of our people at all levels of government. You are expected to participate and support Republican candidates for office.

Membership in the MRC is open to any registered Republican who resides in the Town of Mendon, (which includes the village of Honeoye Falls). Under the Monroe County Republican Committee By-Laws each voting district in Mendon is allowed 4-committee people. There are currently nine voting districts in the Town of Mendon, therefore a maximum of 36 members.

Candidates for membership in the MRC who attend three consecutive meetings are eligible to be nominated for a vacant position after their third consecutive meeting.

Members of the MRC participate in advancing the Republican cause in Mendon and Monroe County. The MRC meets once a month, currently on the first Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Mendon Town Hall. MRC meetings are held in accordance with By-Laws, which you will be given a copy of and are encouraged to read. The MRC and the Monroe County Republican Committee have approved the by-laws.

As members of the MRC, you will be expected to attend and participate in the MRC meetings, and to participate in the functions of MRC subcommittees of interest to you, such as fund raising, the screening of candidates to be officers of the MRC, the screening of those Mendon residents desiring to be designated to run for elected positions in the town of Mendon, the writing of a MRC Newsletter, promotion of endorsed Republican candidates, and to actively encourage Republican voter turnout for local, state and national elections.

Members of the MRC are strongly encouraged to attend social functions of the MRC, to sell tickets to these functions, and to encourage their Republican neighbors to attend these functions.

Members of the MRC are also expected to attend and vote at the annual Monroe County Republican Committee nominating convention each May, and to personally obtain signatures every June of registered Mendon Republicans on petitions nominating Republican candidates for various elected offices in Monroe County, Mendon, and to continue as active members in the Mendon Republican Committee.
